Features
Publishing Items from Upchain to Fusion 360 Manage
When designs are completed in Upchain, an Upchain Change Request is used to provide a review of the design. If approved, the data is then synchronized and published to Fusion 360 Manage for an enterprise review and approval.
Upon publish to Fusion 360 Manage, a corresponding Change Order is created in Fusion 360 Manage containing the affected part/BOM items, attributes and viewables such as the STL or STEP translation files.
As the PLM system, Fusion 360 Manage provides an enterprise workflow via a change order to release a design or to send it back to Upchain for rework on the originating change request. Whether approved or sent back for rework, PLMConnect is the mechanism for synchronizing PDM and PLM. This behavior is outlined in the section below, “Synchronizing Fusion 360 Manage Change Order Disposition with Upchain.”
Synchronizing Fusion 360 Manage Change Orders with Upchain
Change orders in Fusion 360 Manage originating from Change Requests in Upchain are synchronized - ensuring seamless collaboration between PLM and PDM. Now that a corresponding Change Order exists in Fusion, the data is now ready for enterprise review/approval.
Workflow Synchronization
A Change Order Workflow in Fusion 360 Manage may go through various steps until it reaches the ‘In Review’ state. At that point, the affected Items are either approved which releases the Items or sent back for rework. The Change Request Workflow in Upchain will have a similar option at the ‘In Review’ state. That is, the affected Items are either approved which releases the Items or sent back for rework.
When a Change Order is transitioned for rework (e.g., In Review to In Design), this triggers the corresponding Change Request in Upchain to demote to rework. Upon completion of the rework, the data is synchronized back to Fusion 360 Manage as defined in the first use case above. The process continues until the file is approved and released.
When a Change Order is transitioned for approval (e.g., In Review to Approval), this triggers the corresponding Change Request in Upchain to promote to Approved. The Items associated to both the Change Order in Fusion 360 Manage and the Change Request will both be at Released.
Fusion 360 Manage Problem Report Triggering Investigation Request in Upchain
In Fusion 360 Manage, issues or enhancements may be found on an Item. A Problem Report is used to allow a user to submit the issue for review on an Item.
If a Problem Report requires ‘Technical Review’, this triggers the creation of a corresponding Investigation Report in Upchain. The affected Item attached to the Problem Report is attached to the Investigation Report along with any attachments. In Upchain, the Investigation Report is then dispositioned which will synchronize the disposition in Fusion 360 Manage.

PLMConnect Vault
The power of PLMConnect can be used to integrate Vault with Fusion 360 Manage! After the review of Items on an ECO in Vault, the ECO and its affected Items are synchronized with Fusion 360 Manage. A Change Order is created in Fusion 360 Manage with the affected items, BOM structure, and item attributes. A URL link to the Vault thin client is also stored in Fusion. This allows users to quickly refer back to the related files for an Item.
A Change Order Workflow in Fusion 360 Manage may go through various steps until it reaches the ‘In Review’ state. At that point, the affected Items are either approved which releases the Items or sent back for rework. The ECO Workflow in Vault will have a similar option at the ‘In Review’ state. That is, the affected Items are either approved which releases the Items or sent back for rework.
When a Change Order is transitioned for rework (e.g., In Review to In Design), this triggers the corresponding ECO in Vault to demote to rework. Upon completion of the rework, the data is synchronized back to Fusion 360 Manage as defined in the first use case above. The process continues until the file is approved and released.
When a Change Order is transitioned for approval (e.g., In Review to Approval), this triggers the corresponding ECO in Vault to promote to Approved. The Items associated to both the Change Order in Fusion 360 Manage and ECO will both be at Released.
