Engineers always struggle with finding the right information in the context of the task on hand. This can include locating the right versions and configurations of requirements, parameters, systems model elements, simulation results, detailed design parameters, and related documentation of every type. Today’s design complexities of system-of-systems are not making this any easier. Manufacturers point to Digital Thread on a PLM Platform as the best approach for addressing this issue. Unfortunately, Digital Thread by itself often results in an overwhelmingly massive amount of traceable data that still needs to be put “in context” after it is accessed.

The most effective way to navigate PLM managed Digital Thread is by separating the complexities of the underlying data model from the desired views of that data—views that are user-definable and interactive (e.g.: a version of the target configuration or a branch in a simulation tree, etc.). The Aras Platform allows engineers to configure such views with interactive filters and the Platform will automatically populate these views without the need for a persistent diagram or report. Join Tim Keer, Director of North America Pre-Sales at Aras, for a 30-minute demonstration to learn how to navigate the most complex Digital Thread structures with ease and efficiency. Discover:

  • How to find data, relationships, and version-specific configuration across Digital Thread

  • How to visualize the results in interactive user-configurable views including grids, tables, and diagrams

  • How to use these views to edit data without violating previously reviewed and approved information

  • How to compare results of analysis between released and modified data (ex: simulation studies)

  • How to retain exploration results for others to reference during reviews
